Visit to Sri Maragathavalli Sametha Sri Varamoortheeswarar Temple at Ariyathurai South Gokaranam alias Chinthamaneeswaram – Kattur near Minjur, the place where Brahma Aranya river merges with sea representing Aghora face of Lord Shiva.Īll these temples are many thousand years old and since they have been created by Sages, the base of the lingam (avudayar) will be in square shape.Varamoorthy Kshethram alias Ariyathurai representing Sadhyojatha face.Vamadhevapuram alias Arani near Periyapalayam (not North Arcot) representing Vamadheva face.Pallikondeswaram alias Suruttapalli representing Tatpurusha face.Ramagiri alias Thiru Arikarai in Andhra near Suruttapalli/ Nagalapuram representing Ishana face of Lord Shiva. They are called Pancha Brahma Sthalams, representing the five faces of Lord Shiva and they are: Out of these, in five places they have contained all their meditative powers into Shivalingams and built temples. Many sages have meditated at the banks of this river and created many temples. The Brahma Aranya river, considered to be created by Lord Brahma, flows in North Chennai and merges with sea at Pazhaverkadu. Since this region is a very sacred and blessed one, there are many lakes around and the water resource is aplenty supplying to the entire Chennai. In most temples, the main deity will be called Agastheeswarar and the Goddess will be called Anandhavalli. Chinna kavanam Nootretteswar is the 108 th temple in this series. Koyampedu, Villivakkam, Vadamadhurai, Siruvarpuri, Pancheshti, Puduvaayal, Thirukkallil and Chinna kavanam are some of the Agasthiar’s temples that exist today. This is the region of focus for Agasthiar – he had installed a whopping 108 temples just between the Kuchasthalai and Brahma Aranya rivers (but only a few exist now) this is the area of Lava-Kucha, twin sons of Lord Rama, where they had been trained at Valmiki Ashram here. I am sure, even now this is only the tip of the iceberg. Now I just made my 4th a trip to Ariyathurai, Pancheshti (again), Chinnakavanam and Perumpedu. Then I made my 3 rd visit to Suruttapalli and Pancheshti. Then on coming to know about Devadanam, I went to Devadanam and Andarkuppam. Initially I knew only the Kalahasthi temple in this region and on hearing about Thirukkallil and Siruvarpuri, first I visited them along with Periyapalayam. Beyond that, it is the most beautiful region of the Chennai surroundings with plenty of greeneries, lakes and ‘not-so-crowded ancient and sacred temples’. The jeevasamadhi is located at eastern part of Pudukkottai.Till a few months back I was thinking of North Chennai (Ponneri/ Gummidipoondi region) only as a polluted and under developed area (compared to South Chennai) but now I realize that this is true only to about 15 kms from Parrys. When he got up, the cloth fell down due to his guru’s blessings and he stood there as ‘Avadootha Swamigal’ and he became ‘Sri Swayam Prakasa Saraswath Avadootha Swamigal’ (henceforth referred here as ‘Swamigal’). He did a ‘Prathakshanam’ (going around) around his mother for 3 times and fell flat (Namaskaram) before his mother. At that time, he was wearing only a ‘loin cloth’. Krishnamurthy walked 72 miles to reach his mother. He also gave the instructions that need to be followed before and after taking the Sanyasam. He enquired about Krishnamurthy’s family members and asked him to get the permission of his mother on the spot and can take up the Sanyasam before his mother only. He also felt that this Krishnamurthy had the required potential to follow ‘Avadootham’ and Sanyasam. He also requested Judge Swamigal to take him as a disciple and provide ‘Deeksha’ to take up the Sanyasam.īeing a Mahan, Judge Swamigal realized the fire inside Krishnamurthy. ![]() ![]() Krishnamurthy reached Madurai and met Judge Swamigal and detailed about his thoughts and his preparedness to take up Sanyasam. He was well respected for his strict disciplines and his determinations. He resigned his post and took up the Sanyasam following the ‘Avadootha school of Ashram’. ![]() Judge Swamigal got this name because of his earlier profession as a judge. Krishamurthy heard about a Mahan ‘Judge Swamigal’ who was staying in Madurai that time. The house is located eastern part of Pudukkottai. You can go into meditative states here effortlessly. There is a place of sit and mediate close to the Jeevasamadhi. ![]() His jeevasamadhi is inside the Sri Bhuvaneshwari Amman Temple, in front of the deity. Judge Swamigal was a Guru of Sri Swayam Prakasa Saraswathi Avadootha Swamigal. This is a Jeevasamadhi of Judge Swamigal.
